What does this site do?
Derma Clinic Index ranks dermatology clinics by neighborhood and treatment. Candidates are gathered by the areas people actually move around in, such as Gangnam Station and Sinnonhyeon Station, ranked on the same criteria, and published together with a full list of that area's dermatology clinics.
Treatment pages such as acne, melasma and Botox each set out what to check before a consultation and answer frequently asked questions for that treatment. The ranking on a treatment page is the same as that area's ranking.
What data do you use?
The candidate list consists of clinics and hospitals classified as dermatology on Naver Map. Opening dates and doctor counts are checked against Health Insurance Review & Assessment Service (HIRA) hospital information, while board-certified dermatologist registration, hours and visitor review counts come from information published on Naver Place.
Data is collected again on a regular basis. The data date at the top of each page is the collection date that page relies on.
How are rankings determined?
Each neighborhood is ranked by weighing years since opening, number of doctors and board-certified dermatologist registration, visitor review counts, how fully hours are published, and whether information is available online. Province and city pages pool the candidates from their neighborhoods and sort them again on the same criteria.
The Dongtan page publishes a ranking finalized by adding an advisory committee's adjustments to the same review of public data, and states this on the page.
Which languages are available?
Besides Korean, the same content is available in English, Japanese, Chinese (Simplified and Traditional) and Thai. Clinic names and addresses are kept in the original Korean with romanization alongside, so you can find them locally exactly as written.
